The flute of the high performance RECA step drills has been grinded using the CBN procedure in the fully hardened material. CBN (cubic crystalline boron nitride) is much harder than usual grinding materials such as silicon carbide or corundum. Thanks to the higher hardness, the material structure is smoothly severed during the grinding process and therefore the cutting edges are stable and sharper.
